We are seeking a
Retirement Accountant to join our dedicated and high-performing team.
As the
Retirement Accountant, you will perform the retirement accounting duties within RIO as it administers the Teachers’ Fund for Retirement (TFFR). You will also work closely with the fiscal team as it maintains the accounting and fiscal operations of the agency and its investment portfolio of nearly $20 billion.

Summary of Work:
- Coordinate, process, and post employer accounting reports of retirement service, salary, and contribution payments.
- Identify, research, and resolve accounting discrepancies in the monthly and year end employer accounting reports.
- Develop and implement employer reporting and accounting procedures and policies.
- Participate in the pension accounting system testing, implementation, and training.
- Perform agency accountant duties including reconciliations between bank statements, general ledger and pension accounting systems as well as assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reporting.
- Collaborate with fiscal team to compile and prepare Annual Comprehensive Financial Report as well as coordinating with internal and external auditors.

State Investment Board (SIB) and the
Teacher's Fund for Retirement (TFFR) as stated in
Section 54-52.5-01 of the North Dakota Century Code. While the SIB is the oversight board for RIO, the TFFR Board is responsible for the administration of the TFFR benefits program.

Location: The position is located in Bismarck, ND with an option to telecommute two to three days per week.
