Our client, the
Maryland State Retirement and Pension System
(the “
System”) is administered by the
State Retirement Agency
(the “
Agency”), and is seeking an
Executive Director (ED). The
System was established by State statute to provide retirement and other benefits to State employees, teachers, police, judges, legislators, correctional facility employees and employees of participating governmental units.
The
ED reports to a 15-member Board and is primarily responsible for ensuring the Board’s mission is fulfilled and that the Board’s administrative and investment policies are executed efficiently, equitably, and expediently. The
Agency administers 12 separate defined benefit pension plans with combined assets of approximately $55 billion. The
Agency employs approximately 215 staff members and is based in Baltimore.
