Assistant Director, Retirement Readiness
The California State Teachers’ Retirement System is seeking to fill its Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness position. The Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness is responsible for policy formulation, implementation, leadership and administration of member education programs, defined contribution programs, field planning operations, member and employer outreach activities, and statewide stakeholder engagement. The Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness serves as a consultant to the Director, Chief Benefits Officer, and several external consultants dealing with significant matters related to system-wide member and beneficiary benefits education of CalSTRS Defined Benefit and Pension2 programs.
The Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness is responsible for overseeing the administration of benefits planning services at the CalSTRS Member Service Centers and field offices, a statewide operation serving all of California’s public K–12 and community college educators. This includes the policy-informed development, execution, and improvement of financial education and investment products as well as outreach efforts for members, employers and key stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for the Assistant Director of Retirement Readiness (Career Executive Assignment) is $124,320–$148,092. Placement in the salary range will be dependent on the incumbent’s experience and qualifications. The State of California provides comprehensive benefits packages including:
