The NASRA annual conference, held about the first week in August every year, is a highlight of our association. We typically offer about 30 hours of program to conference participants. Presentations are on a variety of subjects including investment management, world events applicable to the pension industry, actuarial, data processing, health care and significant happenings in each of the states and territories. Members and associates are encouraged to suggest skillful and informed speakers regarding pertinent subjects.

An important component of the conference is the ability to network with the other attendees. The conference is organized to provide these opportunities during the evening group meals for all attendees. The conference activities are not sponsored by associates.

The registration fee for attending the annual conference is $800 for each member ($100 late payment fee) and $1,650 for each associate ($300 late payment). The Late Payment Fee will be assessed when the conference registration is received after July 3rd. An associate firm may send up to five associates to the annual conference. In addition, both members and associates are encouraged to bring spouses and families. The conference registration fee for a spouse or adult guest is $175. The fee for a child 20 years or younger is $75. Registration fees cover the program, food, beverage and official functions associated with the annual conference. A nominal fee for golf and tours will be charged.

The NASRA conference room rate is $195 plus 13% tax. These rates are available July 26 through August 10, based on availability. These special NASRA discounted room rates are available until the cutoff date of July 6, 2009 or until the group block is sold out, whichever comes first!

NEW Senior Staff Workshop

A new value-added feature of the annual conference offers operational directors an opportunity to meet with their peers to discuss important topics facing the operations of public pension plans. Similar to the Directors' Workshop, this two-hour session will be held on Saturday morning, August 1. Please sign up for the workshop during online conference registration

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed for key staff responsible for the operations and/or customer service areas in public pension plans. This group will include Deputy Directors, Directors of Operations, Chief Operating Officers, Directors of Benefits, and Directors of Member Services.

Conference Policy

Associate Member-Sponsored Functions During Annual Conferences
Related functions (social, professional, other) sponsored by associate members are encouraged during the annual conference. However, they must be scheduled so that they do not conflict with any NASRA function included within the conference program.

Appropriate Attire
Casual dress is encouraged throughout the conference, with the following exception:

• Business attire, i.e. coats and ties for men and comparable dress for women, is requested for speakers, moderators, panelists, and presenters during their portion of the program.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be made in writing to the NASRA Administrative office. Refunds will be given according to the following schedule:

• Prior to July 3: full refund
• Between July 4 – July 22: 50% refund registration fee; No refund on activity or guest fees
• After July 22: no refund

Conference Logo Polo Shirts

Shirts Now Available to All Attendees
Land's End Polo shirts for this year's conference are available for purchase to conference participants. This year, NASRA is offering a choice in styles. One shirt is a Banded Short Sleeve Mesh Polo in Emerald Green for both men and women. The other is a ¾ Sleeve Stretch Broadcloth Blouse for women also in Emerald Green. The standard NASRA logo and 'Savannah, 2009' will will be stitched in the upper left of both styles. Shirts are $40 each for the Polo and $49 each for the Blouse. They will be delivered at conference registration.
