Howard Fineman
Newsweek's chief political correspondent, senior editor, and deputy Washington
bureau chief. Nationally known as a writer and commentator on politics,
Fineman is also a news analyst for NBC and its cable networks, MSNBC and
CNBC, appearing regularly on Hardball with Chris Matthews and The News
with Brian Williams, and reporting for The Today Show and Dateline. He
is a regular on the nationally syndicated Imus in the Morning radio show,
and he writes a weekly column for MSNBC.com. Named one of the country's
foremost political reporters by Washingtonian magazine, Fineman has covered
Congress and national elections for Newsweek since 1980. He has been chief
political correspondent since 1984 and was named a senior editor in 1995.
Over the years his covers have included: the rise of the religious right,
the power of talk radio, race and politics, the Clinton campaigns and scandals,
the impact of digital technology on society, and the candidacies of Gary
Hart, Pat Buchanan, Jesse Jackson, Ross Perot, Steve Forbes, and Bob Dole.
Fineman has covered every president since Jimmy Carter and was among the
first journalists to report on the rise of George W. Bush, who Fineman
first interviewed in 1987 and first wrote about in 1994. Since then, he

the last featuring the president's first extensive interview after the
terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. The Forbes Media Guide has called Fineman

Mark Weaver
MARK R. WEAVER is an experienced attorney, crisis manager, and media relations
expert who has provided advice and counsel to hundreds of public officials
in his 20-year career.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Weaver was a Communications Director with
the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He also ran a communications consulting
firm serving more than 100 clients. During the Reagan Administration, he
was appointed to serve as the Assistant Director of Public Affairs for the
United States Department of Justice in Washington, where he regularly briefed
the national press corps on high-profile criminal matters. Following that,
he was Vice President of one of the largest communications firms on the East
Coast.
Later, he was Vice President and General Counsel for a national communications
firm in Washington, D.C. In this position, he advised numerous state and
national officeholder across America, including several in Ohio.
From 1995 through 1999, Mr. Weaver was Ohio's Deputy Attorney General, where
he was responsible for crisis management, strategic counseling, and all communications
for an agency with 1400 employees and 50,000 cases. He also served on the
Attorney General's Executive Staff and acted as a senior policy advisor and
chief spokesman.
Mr. Weaver is now Of Counsel to a Columbus law firm and he teaches graduate
level political science at the University of Akron and Media Law at Ohio
State University's Moritz College of Law. Mr. Weaver holds Bachelors and
Masters degrees in Public Administration from the Kutztown State University
in Pennsylvania. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from the Delaware Law School
at Widener University, where he graduated in the top 15% of his class.
Andrew Beal
ANDREW BEAL joined Nicholas-Applegate in 2001 with lead portfolio management
and research responsibilities on the Emerging Countries team, including
the Pacific Rim area. Andy previously enjoyed a 10-year career specializing
in Asian investments with Schroder Investment Management Ltd. of London,
UK and Seoul, Korea. He was most recently head of Asian Institutional Investments,
Global Emerging Markets for Schroder. He earned his B.S. in economics and
politics from the University of Bath, England. He has 13 years of investment
experience.
Noel O'Halloran
NOEL O'HALLORAN, Director and Chief Investment Officer, joined UBIM (now
KBC Asset Management) in 1992. Noel previously worked for Irish Life Investment
Managers as a Portfolio manager and has specialised in Irish, European
and US equity markets. He is an engineer by profession having graduated
from University College Cork in 1985.
Noel is also a committee member of the Dublin branch of the Institute of
Investment Management and Research and a member of the Equity committee of
the Irish Association of Investment Managers. He has completed the exam program
of the IIMR in the UK and is entitled to bear the designation of Associate
of Society of Investment Analysts in Ireland (ASIAI). Following that organizations
merger with AIMR, Noel is also a regular member of AIMR.
Noel lives in Howth, Co. Dublin with his wife and three children and enjoys
golfing and playing soccer in his spare time.
Dallas Salisbury is
President and CEO of the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI)
and has been with the Institute since its founding in Washington, D.C.
in 1978. EBRI provides objective, unbiased information regarding the
employee benefit system and related financial security issues. The
EBRI mission is "to contribute to, to encourage, and to enhance the
development of sound employee benefit programs and sound public policy
through objective research and education."
EBRI has earned widespread regard as an organization that "tells it like
it is." The Institute does not lobby and does not advocate or oppose any
policy position. EBRI is supported financially by for-profit and non-profit
corporations of all types, foundations, unions, government organizations,

Richard Hancock Moore ,North
Carolina State Treasurer, is sole fiduciary for over $60 billion in
public monies and state investments, oversees the pension funds for
nearly 600,000 public sector employees, and is responsible for the
management of the public debt of state and local governments. In addition,
the Treasurer serves on many boards and commissions, including the
State Board of Education and the State Board of Community Colleges.
Treasurer Moore has been a national leader in the fight to protect shareholder
rights in the wake of Wall Street corporate abuses. He is the author of investment
protection principles that have been adopted by pension fund managers across
the country and his efforts have been featured in the Wall Street Journal,
New York Times, Business Week, and numerous other worldwide publications.
Richard Moore was elected State Treasurer in 2000. He is an honors graduate
of Wake Forest University and Wake Forest Law School, and also holds a graduate
degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. Treasurer
Moore's career in public service also includes appointments as a law clerk
with the U.S. District Courts and as a federal prosecutor, successfully prosecuting
numerous white collar and environmental criminals. He has also served in
the North Carolina House of Representatives.
Scott A. Livengood ,
Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Krispy
Kreme Doughnuts, was born in Salisbury, North Carolina in 1952 but
grew up in Winston-Salem, the same city that Krispy Kreme has called
home for its entire 65-year history.
After receiving a BS Degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel
Hill, he joined Krispy Kreme and assumed increasing responsibilities over
the years. He became President in 1992. In 1998, he became Chief Executive
Officer, and, one year later, he was elected Chairman of the Board. Under
Livengood's leadership the company has been transformed from a regional wholesale
doughnut company to a nationally recognized and leading branded specialty
retailer of premium quality doughnuts. He has guided the company through
its greatest period of expansion; developing markets across the U.S., entry
into Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. Since the company began its
national expansion in 1996, the number of stores has grown from 95 to 340.
In addition, he led the company through an initial public offering in April
of 2000. Today, Krispy Kreme's IPO has been cited as the most successful
of the year
Anthony Chan, Ph.D. ,
is Senior Managing Director and Chief Economist for Banc One Investment
Advisors Corporation. Dr. Chan joined Banc One Investment Advisors
in 1994, where his primary responsibilities include briefing fixed
income traders, salespeople, trust officers and portfolio managers
on the current economic condition. In this role, he also conducts a
series of economic presentations nationwide. Dr. Chan has been quoted
often in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Investor's
Business Daily, Business Week, USA Today, The Bond Buyer, and the Dallas
Morning News, among other financial publications. He is a monthly guest
on CNBC and CNN and a frequent guest on The Nightly Business Report
on public television, Reuters Financial TV and the Bloomberg National
News Program. Dr. Chan is the author of a number of professional papers,
including a weekly commentary and a quarterly report titled Economic
Insights. He is a member of a series of economic panels, including
the prestigious Blue Chip Forecasting Panel, for which he produces
monthly forecasts on the economy. In addition, he served on the Economic
Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association from 2001-2002.

brief Alan Greenspan and the rest of the board members in Washington,
DC twice a year in an off the record session.
Grover G. Norquist ,
a native of Massachusetts, has been one of Washington's most effective
issues management strategists for over a decade.
Mr. Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), a coalition
of taxpayer groups, individuals and businesses opposed to higher taxes at
both the federal, state and local levels. ATR organizes the TAXPAYER PROTECTION
PLEDGE, which asks all candidates for federal and state office to commit
themselves in writing to oppose all tax increases. To date, President George
W. Bush, 211 House members, and 38 Senators have taken the pledge. On the
state level, 8 governors and 1279 state legislators have taken the pledge.
Mr. Norquist also serves on the Board of the National Rifle Association of
America and the Board of the American Conservative Union. He writes the monthly
politics column for the American Enterprise Institute Magazine. Mr. Norquist
also served as a Commissioner on the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce
and on the National Commission on Restructuring the Internal Revenue Service.
In the past, he has served as economist and chief speech-writer for the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, as campaign staff on the 1988, 1992, 1996 Republican
Platform Committees, and as Executive Director of the National Taxpayers'
Union.
Mr. Norquist holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Economics, both from Harvard University. He lives in Washington,
DC.
